Tropical Storms.....and Labs

It rained and poured and blew all last week. The Labs, even though known to love water, refuse to go out in it. The wind in the Palm trees make a whistle sounds so I;m sure that frightened them...or it could have been the almost knee deep water in our back yard... . Thankfully all is well this week and back to ..normal. :-)

This is Sophie! My inspiration for painting Labs. She is so tolerant of my picture taking. I sit in front of her and click away...and also trying not to use the flash. When she's had it I hear a low groan..she's had her close-up and session finished. It's tough being a celebrity!!!

Sammy's Dream

So my van died this week and I shoved the 3 Labs over so I could sit on the chaise with them and stare out the window. Depressed.

Sammy, the youngest, said.."why don't you paint something big, something fun with flowers all through field" Sophie and Fergus added.."and put Sammy in the painting!!!" Thus..the beginnings of "Sammy's Dream"

I had alot of fun doing this piece and the Labs were thrilled because they had more room on the chaise. Silly dogs!!!

New Pieces

I have had so much fun doing these smaller pieces. I get to sit down! When I paint I stand in front of the canvas so I can back away and get a different perspective and that can be an 8-9 hour day. So I REALLY love doing the smaller pieces.
