"A DAY FOR CROWING " SHEILA WEDEGIS ART

"A DAY FOR CROWING"
Oil on Copper  6.5" x 6.5 "

It was a good day!! A client picked up his portrait and ordered another! So, I painted one!! Our Sammy was excited to see a bird in the house, sort of.

I had fun doing this. Instead of putting in a background I decided to tell you about the day. It was hot.

The photo is from Daily Paint works and a challenge to make your own blacks. I do with my Labs using a mixture of blues and reds to attain different shades of blues to purples. Next time you see a black dog, really look at their fur in the sunlight. Wonderful colors are to be seen!!

$350.00
S&H included plus Framed in a wide black frame with gold inside trim.

ARTWORK FOR AMY ART BY SHEILA WEDEGIS AND OTHERS

My mind has been a little preoccupied the last week or so but next to what my daughters best friend and her family are facing ,it seems so small.

I started a blog page to help raise money for Amy Davis. She was recently diagnosed with ALS.
Lou Gehrig s Disease and no known cure.  She has two young children and hasn't even reached 40. My heart aches.

My daughter , Erin and other friends work hard up north to raise money with fund raisers so I decided to share art with you and hopefully some may be appealing and you'll just have to have it!!! I'm also hoping other artists may donate and join the fight too.  So, here's the LINK TO AMY"S BLOG

Thanks for looking in.

Working on commissions and trying to fit in fun work. Brushes are flying!!!

SUNDAY AT HOME SHEILA WEDEGIS ART

Sammy and Ozzie. An older pic since Ozzie is now as tall or taller than Sammy. This month Oz will be 2. See the position of "you oh Sammy are my teacher and mentor"? , well now Oz is a teenager and in his rebellion stage. "Mentor my eye!" he says.

Oz is Roger's dog so he listens carefully to him.  Me? It's usually "Ozzie...Ozzie come...Ozzie come...OZZZZIEEEEE"  However, if I add "DINNER" he zooms to me.  Realizing I need him to listen to me as well I'm doing the treats in my pocket and the come!

Sammy is good. He and I are working on the ok..you don't bark like a crazy man just because I have a ball in my hand thing.  He has figured out that I really don't have three breasts and that bump is a tennis ball in my shirt. Smart boy. He then sees my back til he stops, then after a good sit and wait, he can jump in the pool after the ball!   My boys!

They are happy today. I am at home. Sweeping up the "three Labs worth of dog hair", doing laundry and maybe napping with them cuddling.  Getting milk from the fridge for my third cup of coffee is exciting. The treats are right next to the carton and I just may, MAY, accidentally knock one on the floor. They are ready!!!

So that's my day. Yes I am thinking about the art work awaiting at the studio..I am so ADHD. sigh.

Have a great rest of the weekend!!! Hug your babies and give them kisses on the nosey's from us!

LABRADOR RETRIEVER OIL ON COPPER SHEILA WEDEGIS ART

"ON HIS WAY BACK"
6" x 4" oil on copper

When we were in Scotland we were lucky to watch the practice training of the top field Lab on the Scotland team. To say it was amazing what these Labs did is an understatement. After meeting the person who takes the photos I asked if I could paint them and after a short discussion decided we would do a joint book of her photos and my art. The photos Ayla takes are amazing.  What an eye she has!  You will definitely be seeing more her photography here and in my artwork.

LABRADOR RETRIEVER ART OIL ON COPPER SHEILA WEDEGIS

   "MY FAVORITE THINGS"
Oil on Copper 6" x 6" Framed

Getting back to my dogs in water series. Since I have fallen in love with copper I think it all works out just fine!  I have been asked, is it a squid or a Kong? It's a Kong.  (sitting here squirming thinking it could have been a squid..euuu)

Catching back up with work, getting over the sinus thing from flying and reading some art books about the use of color. I hope you find a difference in some of my work color wise.

Roger bought me a fantastic waffle maker and it's been so fun thinking up different recipes. And yes, we are eating them. (running around block as we speak)

Be sure and let me know how you like the color schemes I'll be using/ I love hearing from you!

Warmly, Sheila
